Out of these number 74% or 5838 km coast belongs to Croatia. The Croatian coast is one of the most indented in Europe. There are more than thousand islands and cliffs along it. One of the most beautiful islands are: the island of Susak, volcanic islands Brusnik and Jabuka, the biggest island of Krk, group of islands Brijuni (nacional park), archipelago of Kornati (national park), island of Mljet (national park), Elafite islands, the southern-Dalmatian islands /Lastovo, Korcula/, the middle-Dalmatian islands /Brac, Hvar, Vis/, the northen-Dalmatian islands /Cres, Losinj, Rab/ etc. There are two biggest peninsulas on the Adriatic coast - Istria and Peljesac. A few Croatians rivers flow into the Adriatic sea. The Neretva is the longest river in the south-east part of the coast. The mouth of the river Krka is unique karst phenomena. And karst itself as one of the features of the Adriatic is the world phenomena. The Mediterranean climate with its mild winters and dry, scorching summers is ideal for living and resting. The sunniest days in the year are in middle Dalmatia (about 2700 hours), where the sunny island of Hvar is located - with record of 2715 sunny hours per year. Such abundance of sun is very good for the Mediterranean plants - high cypress, aromatic laurel trees, rose-bays in blossom, tender tamarisks, agaves, sensitive mimosas, juicy orange trees, tangerine trees, lemon trees, almond trees, pine trees, olive trees and fig trees. The Croatian Coast is distinguished because of its low evergreen macchia full of smell of sage, heather, rosemary and lavender. There is a rich fauna in the Adriatic sea - different kinds of fish, shells, crabs and other sea world. Yacht Charter in Croatia

For your ideal vacation we have many different charter yachts. See our agency offer and make your choice.

Yacht - the place where you really enjoy freedom and beauty of nature.
This is an active relaxation comparing with a programmed holiday at the hotel.
The supreme luxury of the yacht with a taste of the sea is something gorgeous and unforgettable. It is the best choice for you and your friends.
Adventures, variety, freedom - all that is a nautical tourism.
There is high quality equipment in all yachts for safe and comfortable life on the sea. If you want quick and dynamic holidays, to cover a long distance and to see as much as you can, a motor boat is the best solution for you. Sailing is a passion of real sea lovers, but the sea itself is not enough. The complete satisfaction is possible only with the wind.

Croatia is the ideal place for those who have never been on the yacht as well as for you who have already experienced such holidays. Croatia is one of the countries where the yacht-charter tourism is developed very much.
After deciding which area you will explore, you need to make the cruise plan and daily routes. If you want to see the most important in such an area, the best way is to ask someone who has already been there. But if you have not such a person on the boat, we can give you some advice. Usually the renting period is one or more weeks, but if there is a free period of time you can rent it for a shorter or longer period of time. There is a great number of Marinas and ports in Croatia where the yacht could be connected with the electricity and water. There are also a lot of other facilities there – you can buy a lot of supplies and etc. For charter in Croatia it is necessary that one member of the crew has experience in driving the yacht and the certificate for it which is required by Croatian authority. Provided nobody of the crew has enough experience and required licence, there is always the possibility of hiring an experienced skipper who will drive the yacht.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What type of boats to choose?
Choose a boat according to your preferances. If you want to enjoy the magic of sailing and you do not hurry too much select a sailboat, but if you like skimming and enjoy luxury select a power-boat.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of catamarans compared to sailboats?
The main features of catamarans are more space and comfort especially in a salon and in a cocpit. When sailing they slight tilt. They have shallower draft than sailboats and two engines which make maneuvering easier. But on the other hand their width can sometimes be a drawback, when maneuvering in narrow harbors or marinas .

What are the characteristics of guletes?

Gulets are classic sailboat. Made of wood they provide more confort and have a large deck space for a living room and a dining room. They are rent together with a crew.

You would like to rent a yacht for a week, from Tuesday to Tuesday? Is it possible to rent a yacht in less than a week?
Boats are usually rented from Saturday to Saturday. So, after a lease which ends on Saturday, the next guests go aboard again on Saturday. Exceptions are possible only if the boat is not filled to capacity and if the charter company estimates that such a rent is profitable. The same applies to the rent which is within a week.

What happens if the charter company due to failure or the like is not able to deliver the selected vessel to a guest in time?
In that case the same or even better replacement vessel will be provide, or the amount of money which has already been paid will be returned to the guest.

Is it good to plan a daily route?
Many people will recommend you a very detailed itinerary for the whole week in advance.
But experiences are different. It is good to make just a rough travel plan. We do not recommend a strict determination of the daily route. It might happen that there is not any place for the night, or you can be surprised by bad weather or simply want to extend your stay in some lovely place.

Is driving at night allowed?
Sailing at night is not recomended, and it is prohibited by some charter companies. Always try to sail into a port earlier because sometimes you cannot find a vacant berth in summer months. In that case you will have enough time to set sail to the next free port.

Who do we contact in case of any need at sea?
In case of danger the skipper will ask for help by radio station. In case of failure or any other need it is necessary to inform the office of the charter company, which will take further measures (send a repairman, organize towing, etc.) It is necessary to coordinate all activities with them.

Is it possible to sail out of the territorial waters of RH?
Sailing out of territorial waters of RH is not allowed as a rule, but it is exeptionally possible to arrange with some charter companies which through Artea d.o.o. agency rent their boats.

Who has to pay damage to the boat and equipment that occured by skipper's fault?
All costs inccured are at skipper's own expense. Due to that many skippers are insured.

Does the skipper have to prepare food and clean the boat?
No, the skipper is the capitan of the boat. He is at the service of the guests in realisation of their desires in terms of navigation. His task is neither cooking nor cleaning.

What about food for the skipper and the hostess?
The diat is guests' concern. They pay for it on the spot. If gulets or larger ships are rented, the food for the crew is included in the price.

Do the skipper and hostess have to have their cabins?
The skipper might sleep in the salon but it is not the optimal solution. It especially refers to the hostess. We recomend that the skipper and hostess each has their separate cabins.

What kind of clothes and footwear should we take?
Depending on the season take confortable clothes shoes and accessories. You should always count on the wind, rain and and cold (even in summer), as well as heat and strong sun. Keep in mind that about 70% of heat is lost throughthe head arms and legs. Please pay attention that your shoes do not slid. If you are an active member opf the crew (especially when sailing , we do not recommend sandals and loafers that could slip off your feet.

On your site I find two ships with identical characteristic but at different prices. Why is that so? Does a cheaper boat has any hidden defects ( faulty engine or incomplete , equipment etc.)?
No, all charter boats are sea-worthy and kept in good working order. The point is that different charter companies, which rent their boats through Artea d.o.o.agency, freely form their prices. Artea d.o.o. company as an intermediary in the lease has no impact on prices which are determined only by charter companies. According to this Artea d.oo has on its website the same prices as these companies.

„4+1 means that there are 4 cabins and one extra for the skipper or very small cabin).
